This is one of the few.\nThis Pegoretti Marcelo was ordered new in 2006 and built by Dario Pegoretti himself — not the workshop, the man. I've been its only owner for twenty years. With Dario's passing in 2018, pre-2019 frames have become genuine collector's pieces, and Dario-built examples in the UK are properly rare.\nThe paint is a one-off: a light blue and orange \"GT40\" scheme inspired by the Gulf Oil racing livery. It photographs well but it's better in person.\nThe frame is in excellent condition. Full disclosure: there's one small cosmetic nick on a rear seat stay, photographed close-up in the gallery. The tube is sound — it's a paint blemish on a twenty-year-old steel frame, nothing more. No dents, no cracks, no corrosion anywhere.\nThe build makes this more than a wall-hanger. A Campagnolo Chorus 11-speed groupset was fitted in 2018 and has covered less than 500 miles — the drivetrain is effectively new. Campagnolo Shamal wheels went on in 2015 and have done under 1,000 miles. Cassette is an 11-29, cranks are 172.5mm. This is a bike you can collect and ride hard, which was always rather Dario's point.\nI'd consider selling the frameset separately for the right buyer — ask.\nCollection welcome, professionally boxed courier shipping at cost.
