Used Welcome to this listing for an Analog Motion electric AM1 bike. The bike is presented in used, but very good condition and is free from faults and can be ridden immediately. Analog Motion was a British bike company which launched the AM1 as a commuter bike in 2015. The whole idea was that the bike should differ as little as possible from a standard pedal bike, except for the fact that it was powered. The bikes used high quality lightweight frame tubing and were easily lifted to put on roof racks, etc. The battery is a similar size to a water bottle and is easily removed for charging off of the bike, so ideal for people in flats, etc where they don't have to haul the bike up flights of stairs to charge it. Ditto for commuters, who could just take the battery into work and charge it at their desk ready for the ride back home after work. As soon as the bike was launched it won a number of awards, including a Sunday Times design award. They were built only to order and were one of the first bikes to be available online only. The only options were frame size (small, medium, or large) and cross bar or step-through design, together with additional chargers and/or batteries. The bike has no gears, just a single speed chainwheel (it is designed as a commuter remember). There are high quality disc brakes front and rear and a side stand. The motor is rear hub mounted and has five levels of assistance. A thumb throttle is fitted but this was deliberately disabled on UK sales to comply with legal requirements. The makers claimed a range of 25-35 miles per battery - dependent upon the usual things like number of hills, size and weight of rider, etc. The battery charges from dead in around 2 hours. I purchased this bike brand new in 2016 for my wife, and it has been excellent. I have serviced it regularly (I used to work in a cycle shop many years ago), but it is testament to the quality of the bike originally that it has held up so well. There are some odd scratches - mostly from taking it on and off of various bike racks over the years, but it is nine years old. You will see from one picture that there are some local patches of corrosion on the rear mudguard. I could have rubbed this down and repainted it, but felt it better to show the bike as it is. It is finished in a fetching and rather trendy satin grey colour with black wheels and fittings, and is a medium frame size. The digital display shows a total distance covered from new of 873 km, which is nothing for a nine year old bike. The bike has always been garaged. With the bike is supplied an extra battery, and the AM charger unit. The extra battery has proved useful when my wife and I have undertaken longer rides, as it has given an effective range of around 50-60 miles, if you don't go too mad with the pedal assist. The bike cost £1,300 new in 2016, plus an extra £280 for the extra battery. It is offered for a fraction of that amount, so represents excellent value. Thanks for looking.Upgrades:
