Description

Used Vitus ZX-1 EVO Carbon Aero Road Bike 54cm (size M) for sale

Summary description
Vitus ZX-1 EVO carbon aero road bike size M, matte black with metallic blue decals, Shimano Di2 Ultegra 11-speed group set with hydraulic disc brakes.
On sale as pictured, comes without pedals and bottle cages.
I built the bike myself in Nov/Dec 2022 starting with a new frame and have been riding it since 05/01/2023. The frame is the latest version. As I built the bike starting from scratch with the frame strictly speaking there is no RRP for the complete build. I entered my best guess of an estimated RRP equivalent value when newly built. Most parts I used were new, but a few were used from one of my bikes I owned from new (namely front derailleur, chainset and seat post battery).
I maintained and serviced the bike myself to the highest standards throughout, hence it rides like a new bike.
The frame has very slight marks of usage only without major scratches or cracks or otherwise significant visible damage. There are small marks from the chain coming off on the chainset The bike essentially looks nearly new. Overall condition I would rate as very good. Everything works perfectly, exactly as it should. Please check the pictures for more details, they are part of the listing. Viewing of the bike can be arranged at my home.

Technical details
Colour: Matte Carbon (Matt Black) with metallic blue decals which changes to various rainbow colours in the sun.
Frame: Vitus ZX-1 EVO (current, most up-to-date second generation) size M 54cm. Geometry typical for a road race bike such as this with stack 543mm and reach 387mm (detailed information on Vitus website). The 10cm stem and 38cm handlebar are slammed, again as expected on an aero road bike such as this (see pictures).
Handlebar/stem combo: FSA SMR ACR stem 10cm with Prime Primavera Carbon Aero Bar 38cm (centre to centre), fully integrated set-up.
Groupset: Shimano R8050 Ultegra Di2 11-speed with EW-RS910 Bar End Junction Box. Chainset 170mm 52/36t, cassette 11-30t. Chain KMC 11s, degreased and waxed with Squirt Drip Wax, 2,300km covered and measuring as good as new. Hydraulic disc brakes with Shimano Ultegra discs 160mm front/140mm rear. and Shimano L05A-RF resin brake pads. Battery installed in seatpost. Shimano Ultegra Di2 11s shifters.
Bottom bracket: Wheels MFG 386EVO Thread Together Bottom Bracket made of aluminium with angular contact bearings 24mm. Black anodised BB shell. BB bearings running smoothly. For those who don’t know, thread together BB metal shells ensure the best alignment of BB bearings. The bearings can be serviced and changed keeping the BB shell. They are superior to standard Shimano press fit BBs.
Wheelset & tyres: Mavic Ksyrium wheels which are as good as new (ridden less than 200km in total). They will serve well as reliable and durable training/winter wheels. Pirelli Cinturato Velo Classic TLR 28mm tan wall road tyres, tubeless set up with Silca sealant. If preferred I can install butyl tubes.
Saddle: Fizik (fi’zi:k) Arione narrow width, I believe this is the R3 with Kium rails (see pictures) in excellent condition with marks on the rails as expected from mounting. Free swap available to Fizik Argo R3 150mm wide with Kium rails in excellent condition (mounting marks on the rails only).

General information
Current total distance covered: 14,400km. Current chain has been running 2,300km.
Weight with Shimano Ultegra pedals (not part of this auction), 2 Decathlon bottle cages (not part of this auction) and Hunt 50mm 1.55kg carbon wheels (note the bike will come with heavier Mavic Ksyrium wheelset) was 8.1kg. With the Mavic wheels the weight will be higher.

How does buyer protection work?

Our Buyer Protection policy is in place to prevent any mis-selling on the platform and ensure you get exactly what you paid for! If the bike arrives "not as described", such as there is damage that wasn't disclosed in the listing, or the specifications are wrong, then you can return it to the seller free of charge. Simply contact our support team and we will arrange this for you. To learn more, please read here.

What if the bike doesn't fit me?

Frame size is the one thing photos can't tell you, so check the fit details on this listing against your height, and use the size guide if you're between sizes.

Buyer Protection covers a bike that isn't as described; it doesn't cover a change of mind on sizing. If you're unsure, message the seller for the stack, reach and standover before you buy.

Can I get the bike serviced before it arrives?

Yes. Add MNB Verify & Service at checkout and our mechanics inspect, service and safety-check the bike before it ships: brakes, gears, tyres, drivetrain and frame.

You get a written report of what was checked and anything replaced. It's the closest thing to seeing the bike yourself.

How do I know the specs are accurate?

The technical specifications are the manufacturer's factory list for that model and year, not a record of what's fitted today. Sellers commonly change wheels, saddles and finishing kit.

What the seller has actually changed is in the Upgrades and damage sections, and every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live. If the bike arrives materially different from the listing, that's a Buyer Protection return.
