About this bike
Seller Description:
Used This is my Burchda HC26 dual-motor Fat-Tyre Ebike. It has 26" x 4" tyres and is very powerful and capable of powering up steep dirt tracks and defeating deep mud. I purchased this bike directly from Burchda in January and have covered 372 miles over common land during my ownership, it looks as new if not better with the upgrades. It has a 48V battery with 30Ah capacity with a dual 25A controller (classed as 250W), it has never been fully discharged in my ownership. 4-pot disk brakes front and rear (these are very powerful), LED front light, full suspension and is in great condition looking better than new. It has a number of upgrades: Brakes have been swapped so the rear brake is controlled by the left brake handle (as is standard on motorbikes) Cadence Sensor is disconnected to allow full throttle control (it can be simply plugged back in if that is your preference) PRO Phone holder is fitted instead of the original weak version PRO Action-Cam holder is fitted for capturing your ride Fitted Cover supplied to keep the bike dry Wide Saddle fitted for greater comfort on long rides Rear View Mirror with a ratchet fitting to allow the mirror to be retracted and stop any damage when dirt-tracking Pannier Set to hold anything you need for a long ride ABS Mudguards which replaced the rattly metal ones originally fitted Mud-Flaps fitted, you need these if going mud plugging, they protect the battery and your back! Self-Sealing inner tube and new front tyre, with gorse around these are a necessity addition. I have had some great rides on this bike, it easily pushed through the commons even when the ground was saturated and there was mud everywhere. The dual-motors provide enough power to climb the steepest of slopes I have encountered, the front wheel scrabbles away as you climb but you feel totally in control and you get much better directional control compared with rear-wheel drive only - watch the video above, this is a hill my other E-Bike cannot manage without some serious pedalling, the Burchda has no problem at all. I have put upgrades on this bike to make it suitable for serious off-road work, I started with getting the brakes the correct way around, from the factory the rear brake on on the right handle which is just strange, so I swapped those. I removed the cadence sensor so that turning the pedals didn't immediately put on full power (this can be dangerous if you accidentally turn the pedals when negotiating difficult terrain). The metal mudguards have been swapped for ABS ones - the metal guards amplified the motor noise and can be heard in the video which was made before I swapped them. The mudguards are needed to protect the battery when mud-plugging. A wider and more comfortable seat was added for longer journeys along the the pannier set. A professional phone holder and action camera mount have been added, these are heavy-duty holders and clamp to the the handlebars or down-tubes. Self-sealing inner tubes and a new front tyre was fitted as the originals were easily popped by gorse and brambles, I haven't had a puncture since they were fitted. Finally, I bought a cover so I can keep the bike ready for use outside. Burchda specifies that the range is 'up to 120km' but this is probably on a flat road travelling at 5MPH, my experience is I would rarely get to less than 50% charge after a full days ride over rough terrain. The only fault is that the pre-load adjuster knob fell off which I have glued back in position, it never seemed to make any difference anyway!Upgrades:
