It is a lovely bike to ride and, importantly, it doesn't have the heavy, bulky feel that you get with many modern electric mountain bikes. The Kinesis Rise was designed as a proper trail hardtail first, with the Fazua electric system added to give you assistance when you want it. The result is a bike that still feels like a mountain bike rather than an electric bike with a motor bolted onto it. The really useful bonus with this bike is that it comes with a spare battery worth £400 The Fazua battery is removable, so having two batteries gives you considerably more flexibility for longer rides. You can carry the spare with you or leave it in the car and swap it over when required. There may be the odd very minor mark from normal use, but overall it presents extremely well. The drivetrain, brakes, suspension, electric assistance and battery will all be demonstrated to the buyer. The additional battery is included in the sale and is a particularly useful extra. A little more about the bike This isn't one of the heavy, full power e mountain bikes. The Rise is deliberately designed to be relatively light and natural to ride, which is one of the reasons it has such a good reputation. The original Kinesis Rise SLX retailed for around £3,200, with the higher specification Rise models costing more. The combination of the lightweight Fazua system, 29 inch wheels, 130mm suspension and proper trail geometry makes it a particularly nice option for someone who wants electric assistance without losing the feel of riding a mountain bike.
